WHO WE ARE
The mission of Southern Area Community Outreach Project is to provide programs to the under-served residents of the South Los Angeles community that are designed to enhance their social, economic, and educational opportunities by providing resources and referrals to collaborative partnerships that will allow program participants to fulfill their goals.

Annual Community Turkey Dinner Giveaway 11/26/24 with The Clarkson Law Firm
So grateful for the Clarkson Law Firm who donated complete Thanksgiving Dinners in bags to our organization to pass out to the community yesterday! The wonderful bags included everything from a Turkey to stuffing to vegetables and a pie for dessert! Along with a throw blanket and a reusable bag, recipients were blessed with a bounty of food to be prepared and enjoyed! See more on our Facebook page.
King Day 2026
with Congresswoman Maxine Waters Being Honored
We had a few SACOP members in attendance for the King Day Celebration held in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Shopping Center. Big thanks to our very own Pastor Robert L. Taylor, President of WAM, the Watts Area Ministers and the work of the entire organization for keeping the dream alive and current and future improvements to our community!
We were so happy to help honor another beloved community activist: Congresswoman Waters has been dubbed “Auntie Maxine”
by those who are endeared to her for her advocacy and understanding of issues important to them.

Throughout her more than 40 years of public service, Maxine Waters has been on the cutting edge, tackling difficult and often controversial issues. She has combined her strong
legislative and public policy acumen and high visibility in Democratic Party activities with an unusual ability to do grassroots organizing.
​
Happy King Day and may we all work to embody to spirits of Martin and Coretta in doing the hard work that serves others!

Our Free Community Food Giveaway Dates
We're back to having our Free Community Food Giveaway on Second and Fourth Saturdays [Distribution Days s do Change From Time to Time], Our usual distribution time is from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Food will be distributed beginning at 10:00 am until exhausted*

We are happy to be back working out of the Beulah Baptist Church's Annex which is on the corner of 100th Street and Success. The address is 1451 E 100th St Los Angeles, CA 90002.

*We encourage everyone to come EARLY as we tend to we exhaust our supplies before noon! We'd hate to turn away anyone while closing up and shutting down!*
